That would be totally insane and pretty awesome! And one of those lucky he didn't kill himself situations... But before we start arguing if it's hurting the image of kiteboarding, I think we should figure out if it's fake or not...

When I first saw it, my gut instinct was that something looks weird. What I think is strange is that he floats so far with the LE pointing in the opposite direction. Could this be the same as when you travel a great distance downwind on large jumps? Or should the LE be pointing the opposite direction, as it does when gliding down huge mountain sides snowkiting? If that is the case, then it is fake, right?

Any thoughts on this?

The LE seemed to be facing upwind as he drifted downwind, but then at the end, they drop the kite upwind of where they are?

couple questions:

how did they launch the kite?

cars on top of a huge office block - is that normal in the states?

why does the skateboard come off so easy when he's been heavily taped on?

just curious.. :D

Yeah, that's kinda strange... Unless they're in some sort of wind shadow and the kite slides through the air on its way down, making it land upwind, I don't know... Think that's one point towards fake.

If you look at the shadow on the building it looks totally real to me.

Wow, there are so many things about this that look real. Stan's right, the shadow looks real as it passes over the cars, and the rider's shadow is more crisp than that from the much higher kite, as you would expect. He leaves some wet tracks on takeoff, and there are some puddles where he lands.

BUT, the cars in the forgrond move between 0:37 and 0:43 when the kite gets landed So editted if nothing else. Also yes, the glide direction and way the kite are landed look a bit unusual.

It would be cool and insane (and stupid) if this is real, but the jury is out.......

Peter
