I was just curious because I have seen some reallllly crappy bars out there. It is safe to say that you can mix and match control bars with kites correct?
What are your favorite bars and why?

Yes, have been using a Best 2007 with my 2006 Waroos and my 2007 GK Sonics.
It does take a bit of tweaking at first to adjust the bar to each kite, but I like using the same bar for all kites so I am always dealing with the same safety system.
I added an extra pigtail to the center lines with about 8 knots on it. I use this to adjust to the different brands and kite sizes to the bar.
Some bars work better with some kites than others. You also need to make sure the safety system is compatible (rear line vs front line, etc).
I am getting ready to upgrade to a 2010 GK 11M Sonic with Bar. It has a better safety than my old bar. I plan to use it with all of my kites.
The first time you try the bar with each kite, you should do it in medium winds and have a buddy launch you and be ready to land the kite as well. It may take a few launch and landings to dial in the best setting.

I prefer the original Turbo Diesel style Slingy bar
and also the early Havoc type bar. over the years,
I use either on a 9m assault, a 9m shockwave, 12m Shockwave,
12m RPM!
a 12 and 16 turbo D, (pulleys on bar eliminated)
a 7m rev and the 6m gray LF... hmmm
what was it.... John's got that one now
the Flysurfer 15's bar sucked so bad
i got a Ozone instinct bar for it
its better not just right cause the clam clete is in the wrong place
and has an oppertunity to wrap around the bar end when sheeted fully in.

Agree completely. I use 2010 North bar with Rebel, Cab SB, RRD Obsession.
Safety system with below the bar connection, QR design, center line swivel at the bar, simple trim Line, effective stopper ball.

I use the 2010 Cabrinha IDS bar on the wainman rabbits and rrd obsession kites. Because both kites are four line kites I got the "fith" line safety without using a fith line with the Cabrinha IDS Bar.
Pull pull adjuster above the bar, stopper which does not interfere the safety, carbon bar with small diameter, nice and soft bar ends, an ypsilion that does not change the shape of the kite, no line tangling because the svivel works automatically and the mini safety line is integrated in the front line for almost no wear of the lines and most important a safety system that works!
Very nice for waveriding where a fifth line can easily destroy the kite.

Hey NEkitesurfing,
Any issue using the Cab bar? Any special trim needed? Been thinking about doing the same thing.

Yep I use the 2010 North Trust Quad bar on my Blade Primes as it is simply an outstanding bar.
