Should have taken your advice sarc! Wind forecast for Taiwan has gone to SHEIT.... Looks like I'm having a tourist holiday and hoping the wind may get up later in the week if we lucky! Can anyone recommend some nice places to visit in Taiwan (Nth end).....

WHat are you talking about burger. It's been howling all week!

Coupla notes:
- Forget Siafu the beach there has been destroyed by road construction many years ago. You need to go to Kuan-Yin in East or North East wind and Yung-An in South West (like today...), your contact is Nico at www.nicowsf.com
- Further south Tony has some beach accomodation near Hsinchu but wind is not as good as Kuan Yin
- If you have wheels the place to check out is Paishawan at very top north of island. Classic spot but the wind is fickle while Kuan-Yin is a wind machine.

- Surfboard is nice to have but not a must, waves are beach break or just monster chop so a TT is OK

Sorry gotta hit the waves now

If you want good wind in Asia go in sri lanka. Look windguru archive for kalpitiya beetwind may and October : we get more than 90% day with good wind. The wind is most of the time stronger than the forecast. The average wind is around 20 nots. I have a kite school in koppaladi 15 km south from kalpitiya : http://www.kitesurfinglanka.com
If you want more information contact me on my e mail : leomoret83@gmail.com
We have good weather, perfect flat water, wave, good wind just around the camp. The life is very hard here...

Thailand is great! Loved Hua Hin and Pran Buri - I'll be going back some time :)

I have to report that Taiwan was awesome, very relaxing holiday and got to kite 4 days out of 7 which on a crap forecast was awesome... GuanYin provided 2 days of 30+ knots and Chunan provided a couple days of light winds so my girlfriend could get out for a couple good sessions followed by me on a skimboard at low tide which was great fun and first time on a skim board - thanks Tony for the lend! Definitely going back over the winter for a few weekender's as everything so close to Taipei airport and wind is crazy! Unfortunately I now have to by a 6m kite as I was overpowered on my 9m! Had to borrow a 7m off Nico (big thanks) but still felt a little over powered but I guess I was on a strange kite (ozone) on longer lines than my normal 20m kima's.... Some pics attached thanks to Nico who is a Champion!
