screamer STABILITY
Hi Guys,
I heard lot of good about epic kites, there is so much in this forum and only think I notice people complain a little bit is kite stability (at 12 o clock). I never ride epic kites but I consider to buy them for this season. Either 2010 or 2011 probably 10m and 14m. Can someone tell me what what are differences in stability for those models in 2010 and 2011 and if I can save money to buy one older model would you suggest 10 or 14 m older version.
Thanks a lot for help

dvayu, the 2011 is improved version of the 2010- so even though both are good, the 2011 is more perfected. As for saving money buying 2010 rather then 2011- yes you probably will, but compare the improvements mentioned on the Epic
2010 Here:

LTD

2011 Here:

LTD

As for the choice between the 10m (Limited Edition), or the 14m- it might help to know your weight and skill, but basically the 10m is very powerful for its size it might generate more power by moving it through the window- where if you are out in the same conditions with the 14m, you might not have to move it as much. Both very high performance kites. I think the 10m Limited Edition is the best of the Screamers and would fly either the 2010 or 2011. The 10m Screamers are actually are a year ahead, so in theory buying a 2010 10m Screamer yields something like the 2011 regular Screamers.
Hope this helps.
Almost forgot:
I didn't know if you took a look at the Renegades, but if you consider stability super important- these kites are king.

Hello "dvayu",
I hope someone else that has been riding the SCREAMER 2010 & 2011 kites can answer your question but I will try to help you the best I can.
The 2010 SCREAMERS are almost the same the the 2011 SCREAMERS.
The only big difference is the SCREAMER 10 LTD (2011) which is totally different then the 2010 Screamer 10ltd.
Now the SCREAMER 7/9/12/14 (2011) are basically the same then the 2010, the only difference is the graphics and for the 12 & 14 we moved the LE attachment points by few centimeters and made the bridle a little shorter then the 2010 which made the SCREAMER 12 & 14 a little faster then the 2010 and easier to relaunch. The stability and the hang time is basically the same. Now depending how much you want to spend. I know a lot of shops are selling the SCREAMER 2010 at a discount compare to the 2011.
I hope this helps you.

My opinion. The screamer 2011 is the most stable Screamer but the 2010 LTD is not far behind. I think it is just a matter of tuning it right for u. To be honest, I am shocked that people care much about stability at 12. Mags often use it as a testing factor. I never keep my kite at 12. Much safer and comfortable in general to keep it at 11 or 1

Thank you all for your opinion.
this really helps. I will test epic shortly and if I like it I will get 2011 10m and 201014m.
It's so cool that forum like this exist and we can help each other make a good decisions. Kiteboarding is great activity, I like the feeling and people. Sometimes when I browse forums I am look why some of us are so bitchy on posts. I hope that we will not become community just to bitch on forums.
. But that is always effect when something grows, with more and more people there will be complains.
Good wind to you all and thanks for help.

Very nice choice "dvayu" on the Screamer 10 (2011) and the Screamer 14 (2010). Also I would recommend to get only one bar for these 2 kites in order to save some money since the bars are same.

dvayu,
I ride the 2010 Screamer 10 Ltd and 2011 12m, and I absolutely LOVE it!!! I adjusted it to my liking and it is very stable. The kite loops super quickly and has tons of power!!! I used to ride a 2008 12m kite (I don't want to say the brand....) and the 10m Ltd has more power than the 12m.
Anyways, I am sure you will fall in love with it!
Also I don't know how much you weight, but I know couple of guys who bought the Infinity and they are loving it!!!! We don't get that much of a high wind constantly, but we get many of the 7 - 10kts wind and they are going and riding in that condition!! One guys is around 200lbs and he goes upwind on 8kts. That is crazy! I didn't get to try the kite yet but I am hoping this Saturday
