recently announced some more destinations in Europe starting in 2011

Dusseldorf,

Dubrovnik

hopefully the schedule will be elaborated to prevent delayd luggage and missing flights in Lisbon.

the sports luggage promotion of TAP for flights to Natal and Fortaleza has been extended until December 2011, so one way costs "only" 75 Euros!

I guess la ninja is here...I would call this rainy season in NE Brazil!
Rain the last 3 days, not all day, but here and there, mainly at nights, but still wind around.
Forecast of today is good, looks like it is getting stronger right now.

But this also means, that the normal rainy season gonna be different too...so expect wind when there is no one...nice!

i need some advice as i'm in the middle of a big dilemma...

I'm basically evaluating whether it can be worth to make a 10-14 days max trip in NE Brazil (was thinking around Jeri) in the end of Dec, beg Jan (like 26 Dec - 7 Jan).
I'm looking for a place to kite with consistent wind, have already been there and loved it, but i know we're at the end of the season, and don't really know what to realistically expect in terms of wind. Would be terrible to fly over there and find no wind

What would be your advice? As you can imagine given the period it's a very expensive trip from Europe...but i want to go kite over XMas and really don't know where!!!

Let me know if you have some "sense" from there on how it's gonna look...

It is really simple: Préa.

Tonight a lot of rain, electricity problem all over Ceara. This morning: what are we gonna do today?

13:00 the first person on the water with 7 m2 Fuel (lightweight, but still)...

And this will not happen in Cumbuco.

don't be too sure about it!
In Cumbuco we had around 20 knots today (as forecasted)! It happens! Perfect session!
The lagoons are filled a bit more due to the rain, so that is excellent!
The days are more or less clouded, but still just shorts...lovely!

It is hard to predict if there will be wind end of Dec and beg. of Jan.
My experience over the last 3 years is, that the wind is lighter, exactly around x-mas to around new years.
January was this year ok, don't know what will happen next year...

No one can predict it...you might have 100% wind, might have only 2-3 days with good wind in a week. But your possibility of stronger winds, like 15+ in light wind days, is up the coast, from Taiba, Paracuru on. Prea, Jeri the most. There is a spot with supposed wind channel, but that area is private. Once I can test this, I will write more info. Might be few knots more than Paracuru and not as far from Fortaleza as Prea or Jeri.

Your call if you want to go, but x-mas time is expensive everywhere, and I don't really know where you can find guaranteed wind. Maybe Vietnam or Taiwan.

Alvaro Onieva just told me, that they had 25-30 knots on Ilha do Guajiru on Wednsday.

yesterday aprox. 22 to 24 knots with sunshine and scattered clouds
today aprox. 24 knots and plain sunshine


- usually at the beginning of the rainy season you will find sea grass all over the beach but there is nothing so we realy doubt the beginning of the rainy season ... it´s way too early.

Curious about that private area.....

if it´s at the beach ... can´t be private it´s state territory
if it´s inland ..... gusty ?? mayby "lagamar do sol" or "lagoa do mato"

provide the location maybe i can already tell you if it´s worth......
