Postby Mr megaloop » Sat Oct 09, 2010 10:09 pm

Was after any info about kiteing in the Maldives islands eg time of year and places to kite/stay. I know it's not exzacky ment to be epic winds over there but it is a place I've always wanted to check out.

I have been once for 3 days,no wind, islands are like postcards, beautiful, good for scuba diving ,snorkeling, relax ,the only things you can do over there.
worth seeing once only in a life yust to say "have been there".
not very good food ,no possible catch fish, nothing to do except immersions,
islands are small and flat ,flat water, sun burn, hot,
take underwater camera mask fins and biggest kite you have.
ciao

Been to Paradise Island (Male Atol) for 9 days in 2007 in november.
Like the name says, it is a paradise island :thumb: scuba diving was great.
I've seen the whole Finding Nemo crew, including huge manta's :o

Not a lot off wind, had 3 light wind sessions with a 16 mtr.
They have there own kite and surf centre

Been there in 2005 (Lohifushi) on a 2 week surf trip. waves are great for surfing (Sultans, Lohis, Jais etc..). One dude kited a couple of days in the Lagoon. Maldives does not strike me as a great kiting destination.
