Has anyone else found that after a season of use the screws on their kiteboard are pushing through the bottom of the board? Especially on Naish kiteboards?

if by screws you mean the bolts that hold your straps in, no i don't have that problem
if you do, you are probably overtightening the shit out of them and wrecking/pulling out the inserts. not too mention the shitty construction most kiteboards have. bolts need to be hand tight but not retardedly snug in there.

..or the screws aren't the original...ie they are too long?
Mine are pretty tight, but nothing comes through the board.

That happend to me once on a Skywalker board. Fortunately I saw the pressure dents forming before the screws penetrated the skin.
The bottom line is the screws are too long. Take them out and get shorter ones or put a couple of thick washers under the head so that the threaded portion is reduced. Or, you can grind the screws down a bit shorter - but be careful not to damage the threads.

always check the bottom if you screw the footstraps really tight onto it.
If you feel the bottom dents, then put a washer in between to avoid it!

thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions.
Basically, I just bought a 2010 naish momentum off someone for 300 and they failed to mention these bumps...He seems nice enough, but states that those bumps always happen the past 6 years he's been riding, but I've certainly never encountered them. Thus, I'm left wondering what to do in this situation.
Do you think it's severe enough to compromise the wood core that it wouldn't be worth it to keep it? He says he did it early and has been riding fine with them for a season. What do you think I should do?

screws are what game with the grav-d footpads, could this be a warranty issue? What is naish's warranty on boards anyways cause I can't find it anywhere. They probably won't cover a second hand sale.

That is really weird. I would expect the inserts to be fully closed at the bottom like the ones I use just like snowboards. On my boards after a few rides the area where the inserts are go a bit concave on the bottom but never rip out. With too long a screw they just bottom out in the insert and cannot poke through the bottom of the board.

Are you sure its not dimples from the threaded insert being pulled up, and not the screw pushing down?
I've seen dimples on lots of boards, but none in recent years.

ZH,
Can you show us a picture of the dimples? If the dimples are caused by the screws and they have not penetrated the board's skin, and you add the washers - it should be OK.
