xenon Laluz mistake or good buy?

Postby droptine » Sun Jan 09, 2011 9:33 pm

Bought this board, Laluz from Xenon, did not try it yet, but is seems so soft. I am wondering if I did not make a mistake. Used to ride a Crazy fly Raptor pro.
Any one tried it yet?

i have a laluz, thought the same thing. this board is so soft how can it be any good...

Its rides great, flat water or chop. Its only down side is when you are underpowered it struggles a bit and i swapped out the pads and straps (2010 model)

people have been loving them in Oz have a search through the reviews section of www.seabreeze.com.au

i have the la-luz, 2010 and going for the 2011.
by no means this is the best board i have ridden.
i have tried the Crazy Fly as well and it is a good board no doubt, but imo the xenon is better.
it has great pop, soft landings and great upwind ability, i have no problem with light wind riding, on the contrary, i feel quite good on it compared to other riders.
i have the 132x40

I ride a Fone Trax 2010 and get to ride quite a bit my friends LaLuz. the Xenon boards are Amazing !
and espesially the LaLuz. When you get to ride it you will see you didn't make any mistake.

Good... very good buy ! IMO...
We call it here an "ediot landing proof board" , but though it's soft,
it has a pretty good pop, & construction level + fether light weight, makes it one of top 3 boards in the market today (& most favorite boards on 2010).

- Check this out - a review of La-luz :

page 169 - a review of the La-luz board.
page 179 & 180 - readers award- The La-luz won "The worlds most favorite board at 2010"
- kitemovement - http://kitemovement.com/2010/04/08/2010-xenon-website/

Just enjoy mate !

Haha Guess what, small world, I actually bought it off Arthur and Henri, I trust them blindfolded, known Arthur since he moved here, very trustworthy person if you ask me,it's just that I usually demo anything I buy, but not this one since the lakes are frozen.
The tips softness just surprised me when I compared it to my CF, so that's why I had second thoughts.
But it will be tested in a few days, and you can bet I will post my review here once tested.

i have seen the wave boards on the other topic, and they look good.
i would like to hear what you say after you surf on it.
i keep hearing good things about them, but haven't tried them yet.

Hi to all!!!

I used to ride the one of 2010 and i was super satisfied from its performance althought a i had my fears about the durability of its construction(knowing that it is super light).Well before 1 week mine "died'' from a pitty KL3 landing a bit wrong. The board suffered power wake tricks and megaloops for 7 months and then suddenly cracked under my ankle.I am very experienced rider (7 years of riding) and searching for the reason that my board broke i asked an opinion from a guy who builts custom boards. we came in the conclusion that the board broke cause of its pads!!!Yeap, the pads are made from super light soft eva so the material after a while became very very soft without having the ability to absorve any impact.(from 2cm squizes to 0,5cm!!)Hopefully they gave the new one(2011) without having the opportunity to test it yet. They completly changed the pads(now i'm sure for the breaking)and they said that its the first one that brokes. They also made it a little stiffer an they changed the rail to a more round one.I think that its gonna work fine and i cant wait for some wind.
