why price is so high?

it is simple! because they can price it like that!

if somebody of us still willing to buy piece of polyester cloth for the 2000$ with lifespan of 3yr max with no guarantees of "cosmetic imperfections" in warranty times, so we'll never see the fair price!

well, i leave all the rest of you worry about the price.

better look at the specs:
http://www.powerkiteshop.com/north_dyno.htm
north dyno shows projected area for its 16 m2 as 10,5 m2

my current 14 m2 kite has 10,1 m2 projected area.

so how dyno is better or more efficient in the lite wind?

i guess shareholders of Boards & More GesmbH will be more than glad to accept your checks for
ineffective dyno 16 m2

good luck

Tried this week Dyno 16 on HARD SNOW covered ice with snowboard. At surface level (=2meters) the Wind was 1-3 m/s , but in 10 meter height wind was 5 meters (=10 knts). Kite stayd very very stable in Zenit. Handling was good for that size kite. Also kite produced good power and speed compared to 18 m2 old rhino 04-05. Rider weight 84 kgs. Tomorrow test continues.

Note ! this was winter test !!! :nono:

attached the wind at 10 meter level. Test was done at 1740-1800 time

I see ignorance is still alive and well.
Projected area isn't the only factor when looking at a kites power or efficiency.
Seems to be doing ok here- viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2369432

i saw them racing at the pkra in thailand. they did very well, nice kites. all 4 team members flew them in the 13 and 16 m sizes while racing but when i was on my 12 m i noticed 2 team members flying the fuse 9m. was totally surprised to see that especially since they kicked my ass and were still at the front with the small kites.

well thank you for comprehensive and exhaustive answer, BrisKite!

my bad, i forgot these kites made for the riders slightly heavier than sheep and riding big floaty raceboards.

thanks for reminding, this kite is out of my "to buy" list

Tested yesterday the 16m2 Dyno, 17m2 2010 Zephyr and Flysurfers DLX 15 and 21 on SNOW. Temp +3 C so the snowboard glide was very poor.

Wind 2.5-6 m/s.

DYNO vs. FS:
-Dyno had the very close the same power as 15 m2 Flysurfer.
-Dyno has better bar feeling and better turning speed than 15 FS.
-FS ( both 15 & 21) goes better upwind.
-Jumping.... Two of the three testers ( one has experince of both types kites, and the second experience only in inflatable) said that FS 15 m2 jumped better, but I ( because I have no experience of foils) liked more the Dyno Jumping. FS flies longer than Dyno.

DYNO vs Zephyr:
-Dyno had clearly better power and better bar feeling that Zephyr.

interesting is, that those big "race" kites look like good jumping kites too!

It will be a mistake if the companies stamp those bigger kites as race kites!
I think the kites can be good for race, and good for old school, which would be the same group of people...guys racing and liking floaty jumps with softer landings.

I tried the Dyno a little, but the wind was so gusty, that I cannot compare to my Rebel. But it jumps and hangs and turns good for a 16. Need to have it in good conditions to give it a real verdict.

But I also saw a proto of an Airush in 17 sqm, which is a race kite, and it jumped high and long as well.

So beware of false marketing...you might miss out good kites if they are labeled as race kites...

For the guys who tested the Dyno, did you test also size 18 or just the 16? Any comparison?

And, the Dyno will come just in 1 scheme colors (black/green)?

In your tests, how about lowend and turning speed?

Regards

Marcello

The Ozone edge was labeled as a race kite last year and it's sales were horrible becuase of it. I don't under stand why labeling a kite with the race logo scares people away, how bad can a kite made to go super fast and upwind super hard, be anything but high proformance fun??

My new fuses say nothing about race on them but stompped all my competators in every event I entered, perhaps that is the best way..

I am calling North style the act of making new race kites and Boards without telling anyone, and keeping mid year outdated kite shapes and board desighns oin the website so know one has any idea of the thunder north is bringing, then showing up at the PKRA with a box full off toys and whooping up on the race course!!!

Nice I can not wait to get my dynos!! Unlabeled race kite el grande. not the big c-kite listed on the website!
