These people can liberate themselves if they wanted to. It has been proven time and time again throughout history.

what got deleted???

Yes, passing the Suez Canal you have a lot of military.
Very secured area.

I think there are some things to be avoided in such areas:

- areas near borders of problem states
- big busses
- big festivals

Pleas add to the list.

Hurghada seems pretty save, specially staying in El Gouna.

Been in Ras Sudr in September and Hurghada in October.

Airport security...big issue.
They once stole my complete board bag, big and 40 kg, direct flight from Fueryebentura to Germany...at Fuerteventura airport...if they can steal such a big bag, what can they put into a plane?

And don't stay home, life goes on...and it is risky no matter where you are and what you do.
Imagine you didn't want to go to Egypt because it is dangerous and went to Spain instead...with a German airline...and that nice person flies it into the mountains.

Enjoy life while you can! Egypt will be even cheaper now with less people. They need the support, Ir Egypt will get even more radical...

It's kinda bin that way , ever since Oct 6, 1973 ; that was the onset of the Yam Kippur war.
The CIA , and Mossad, got taken , completely and totally by surprise ; they failed to recognize
the impending skirmish , that was about to take-place. Since then ; that aria is guarded about
as much as the border between North , and South Korea. :(

I got to tell Ya outright ; i did NOT enjoy, being attached to the 82'nd airborne, (on those dates) !!

I just flew back from El Gouna yesterday. Was in Phuket the week before (Not so much wind there tho). No issues at the airport in Hurghada or Cairo. The media is making it seem alot worse than it is because only Sharm El Sheik is affected right now.

Wind was great. Rode at both Red Sea Zone and a new place called Element. (Further up wind)

Also, took a day to go to Tawila. Only 5 of us there, it was amazing!

That's the sad thing for me... So much potential in Egypt to be a great place to visit.

Egypt could be like Spain, where a huge amount of the population moved out of poverty thanks to tourism.
Egypt was starting to move toward more prosperity but unfortunately, now that trend has reversed. When I was leaving Sharm last December, almost all I saw were constructions of flats and Hotels all abandoned partly built.

All those unfinished buildings are a nightmare.
They have a tax law, if not finished, you pay less taxes.
So all looks like unfinished. Most houses don't have penthouses.
Go to Cairo...had of Cairo is construction.

Plus they kill the little green they have in the Nile area...for unfinished buildings...if tourism doesn not work, many will suffer and starve. Lots of dangerous potential.
Wishing Egypt best of luck, they need it.
