Carolina Diaz, a vibrant girl who suffered a severe spinal fracture and paralysis as a result of manlifting. They used manlifting as a means of execution in China back in the day. Wonder if these guys play with guillotines too out of a sense of history?
Most of these lifted kiters were injured by "lockout." Who can tell me what lockout is? Someone should tell these guys about it.
See the guy inexpertly operating the winch initially creating all those flying loops and potential tangles? I was locked out my second time doing truck hang gliding tow launching in the course by exactly this same thing. The winch was being operated by a fellow student? I was blasted up from about 300 ft. to 600 ft. or so extremely fast. Being pulled by a truck doing 45 mph with a taught line can easily do that. I had a weak link which broke leaving me with very little forward speed in a nose up attitude. So I decided to let the glider fly out of it as I could have easily induced a stall and tail tumble to earth. It turned out to be the right choice, my best landing of the day.

yes, that is her.
I just hope the guys had a quick release on the line...you never know!
But this setup is safer than the ones behind boats, jetskis or near the shore. They went out far enough and no power used from the cable machine.
But for very experienced riders only!

I was too lazy to comment this on Vimeo but I'll comment it here.
This is not high. High is about 1km high when towed with 1km rope with pulley. Tow truck needed to reverse next to pulley and glider keeps rising (hang glider and paraglider). Higher tows are possible but it is unnecessary for gliding sports.
Also doing this without proper training, proper equipment and tow pressure *GAUGES* is just stupidity. Losing one kite string of four because too heavy towing could be fatal. Tow lockouts can cause you severe injuries because you are slammed into ground/water on high speed!

The music in that video is a safety hazard in itself
