In that case it's not going to be for me... I need to update my gear soon and not going to buy the 2011 now.

At Belmont, on July 23 I had demo one of the RRD kite that was all black and with white lettering does anyone know which model it is? I assume it was the 2011 and not the 2012. I really liked it a lot, it was very stable, turned quick, had power through the turn.

It probably was 2011 Vision 12 that Kitesurfari has in demo. Great kite, I rode it last weekend at Belmont too. Very stable, and over all really nice kite, but for my taste could be a little faster.
I don't know who's designing at RRD but they sure do a great job. All the kites I've flown feel really good, stable, fast, and perform well in variety of conditions... that's why I'm getting a whole quiver of their kites:))

i love my 2010 Obession 9- best kite i´ve ever had.
wondering what the Obsession 13,5 ( 2011 or 2012) is like for 10- 20 knots. Never seen one or heard a review. cannot test it where i am, only order it blind.
Speed, turning speed, bar pressure, range
any help?

Yes the 2011 vision got released in the spring and the 2012 will get released next spring. I can also confirm that the all black and white kites at the belmont demo were 2011 visions.
Im travelling atm, but ill get a review together for you, tom.

Thanks djlepper and j1finnn1, even though I tried it at Belmont I would think that it would still be good for the surf but I also liked it for jumping.

Turf and surf.
I´m in sweden and we only get waist high windwaves- but its onshore winds and to wave ride i have to follow the kite. I´d say its most challenging for a kite in these conditions.
My 2010 Obession 9 performs great. I have been riding strapless surfboard all summer but last year was on my TT with this kite- and it jumps, loops very well indeed. It has great lowend and i have a 14 as my next kite up. Had a 2009 Best HP 10 that had only slight better lowend and sold it.
also i find this kite super stable in high end-

Thanks TomW,
I will have to try the Obsession 14 since here in San Diego the wind can between 12-16 side on and up to waist high on a good day.
