Just saw this and don't quite know what to make of it. A tethered man-lifting concession? There are over a thousands years of history in tethered manlifting, most of it not very good. Seems to have some injury potential but no one got messed up in the video below. They may have sorted out the lockout problem outside of wind extremes. I believe they use this as a part of their kiter training in Leucate, FR. Anyone familiar with this operation?

Wow!
look like another extreme fun there, bravo to the French,they seem always ahead of everyone inventing new air acrobatic sport.

wtf are you talking about?! bravo? really? you don't have to be a physicist or aeronautical engineer to see the dangers with this one

I'm not seeing the dangers of which you speak. You're tethered via harness and static lines that won't let you hit the ground, and the bungee to the ground won't let you swing back to hit the main support arm. The kite seems to be on handles so you can probably just let go.
Looks like fun.

That looks like a load of fun.
It is vaguely similar to a method we use for paraglider reserve testing. I can see people doing that in their paraglider and hang glider harnesses.
Perhaps you could use an portable high lift crane as the support. Add in a bit of a swing from the crane to do G-force training for pilots.
