Just want to share something i originally did to get myself a raceboard that would fit into my roadster with the roof up. It turned out to be a great light wind race/wave compromise for few bucks:

* I have mounted straps: keeps me on the board in chop. Gives very little room for feet in manouvres though, takes a little more skill

* Toe-in is cancelled: by cutting the fin bases, so fins are straight,16cm fins give enough drive/efficiency. With Turbine gets me going upwing from about 8kts. Despite the straight fins VERY manouverable, probably due to the short length.

I have ridden it maybe a dozen times during this summer and i am a surfboard noob, still i get to hear how good my riding looks, except for gybes/tacks, still working very much on those. It was well worth the appr 10hrs the conversion took!

I got the Arcane about a year ago in anticipation of going up a couple of boat sizes, it is a wake-surfer you know.... since then i have had plenty of fun learning strapless stance switches, also this late summer I made this aquisition

so far i have been too busy learning trim tabs and overcoming 50 plus mph fear to bother towing any body ,.... next summer 4 sure!

Whohoo, got yourself a real beast there!! I guess having access to all those horsepowers makes lightwind kiting not so interesting?

Have a good time in the wake!!

Hi Zerblatskij,

Nice pic!

I also just got myself an Arcane. What fins are you sporting there? how did you get the straps on?
Thanks for the info!

Nice job!!! :thumb: :thumb:
You are going to loose a lot of upwind ability on the tail shape though. Might be better from more freeriding. If you really want racing feel. see if you can find even bigger fins, and place a set of back straps more towards the rail. It will be hard to keep that board flat, but optimal upwind drive on the fins has to come from the side of the board me thinks.
