Airstyle DVD - Stricktly Hooked - Update

Postby Toby » Fri Apr 20, 2012 4:31 am

After 6 weeks of filming on Boracay, Philippines, with bad luck for about 3 weeks with the weather (cloudy, wind too early, too light or too strong), we have to move on to plan C. Boracay was already plan B, but the list of tricks is getting longer and longer. This could be seen as bad or good. I rather think it is good, since it pushes my level to the max, landing many new amazing tricks, giving you more and more options for tricks to try once you see them. The inspiration of possibilities for new tricks will blow your mind, like it blows my mind, and the one from my cameraman ;-)

The up-to-date trick list shows 581 tricks in total, and 169 still need to be filmed.

See many fantastic screenshots of what we filmed here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2373151

We are now planning on plan C, which will be in May in Egypt. We will start in Soma Bay and film around the bay, with trips to Hurghada and El Gouna, depending on the winds, since I don't need 40 knots!

I will have the craziest quiver ever with me: 15-16-17-18 :o

And we will stay in Egypt until all is finished!

It will be an amazing time for me, since I assume there are like 80 tricks never landed before, so I really have to push myself to land those. I am excited to land all this, and I am sure there will be more tricks added, since my mind is constantly thinking about tricks, and once I land new tricks I start adding different versions of it. Crazy at some point....

So, wish me luck and for health and good winds, so we can finish this unique project and DVD. We will try everything to have the DVD ready for PKRA Germany, where the organizer will run AIRSTYLE as discipline as well and where I hope to sell many copies, since the costs of the whole project will be at 30.000 Euro.

if you want to support us, please pre-order your DVD at www.airstyle.tv ! You will receive a special price and a signed DVD !

Thanks to all supporters so far who ordered a DVD !

And thx for our section sponsor http://reefretreatboracay.com , a nice hotel on Boracay, Philippines directly at the kite beach!

Don't drink the water ;)

And stay away from the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, for goodness sake!

Good luck! :thumb:

Can't wait to see the DVD...filled with tricks that mere mortals can attempt! (we're not all up for mega loops, slider gap jumps, surfing Jaws, jumping piers or The Triple Lindy.)

I love the look of this one;

You should pull Dimitri in for some guest shots. He nails a lot of "airstyle" and makes it look so fluid and easy.

Toby What kites are you riding and why. Would I be right in saying you mainly ride a 14m for the big floaty airs??

Cheers

Thx for postimg the link to the diary, here I wrote down the daily wind speeds and which kite I used.

I used 90% the Dyno 18...Why? Because it is slow, powerful, hangs long and has a good lift even in lighter winds.

There are other kites similar, but no one but North has the Microloop plus a stopper. I need that stuff to perform the way I do.
