This topic was raised back in 2008. Many brands came up with quite a # of kites for surfing since. It's my firs summer on a kitesurfboard, love the board but my switchblades and rabbits are a different story. Looking for suggestions for a kite specifically riding in chop and small waves.
thx

Nothing wrong with Rabbits, they drift better than most.
Turn quick, with one hand while sheeted out, and depower hugely.
If they jumped better, I would still own one and would have bought more.
What sizes?

I have 7.5 and 12. After few sessions the rabbits are definitely better choice just debating now what should I get in between the smoke or the punch or something else.

My quiver of choice in those kites would be 7.5, 10.5, Big Mama.
I would think the Smoke would fit in the slot you have.
If you do, it is only 1.5M bigger than your 7.5M, so they will overlap.
If you go Punch, it is only 1.5M from the Boss so they will overlap also.
Kind of close whichever way you go, but for surfing, it does make sense.
So, you gotta decide if you get more 9M days or 10.5M days and pick that size.
Your 12M almost stretches down to your 7.5M if you were only riding flat water.

Rabbits are great! The Bar is great. No changing the Flippin Chix Loop line as it has tubing covering it. As Old Broken said, steering w one hand Is SupaEz. As soon as they come with updates on colors instead of Black, I will be upgrading.
I don't Like lookin at Black Kites!!! IMO

Depends a little on how you ride but check out the park for a fast medium grunty kite.

I've been thinking of Naish Park and Cab Drifter any opinions of this two.

I really like the drifter for waves. It has much lighter bar pressure than the switchblade so one handed steering is easy. Relaunch was quick and turnig was fast.
It pretty much performed as advertised. The 9 would fit with your current sizes of 7.5 and 12
Demo one if you get the chance. The 2012 model is on sale with most dealers so you can probably find a good price for one.
Hope this helps

I have 7,5/10,5/14,5 and used 7/9/12 last year
The Smoke and Mr Green are just magic, especially in waves. Maybe build a quiver around them depending on your wind/weight?
Jumps are OK but don't plane that much. Question of sending the kite earlier I guess

Cab drifter is a great kite and perfectly named
Slingy Rally is a really good drifting kite as well, turns are quick without pulling you off the wave
depends on how you ride and what you can get a deal on, i suppose
