Hi. I plenty agree with Tautologies, I own the Bolt 6 2012 and...yes, last year I had a nuking session in Maui/Pier One. The wind was blowing at 45 mph with terrific gusts. I was not only able to "survive" but also to ride big waves. After that session I had a big smile in my face. The 6 Bolt will remain in my quiver forever!
A big ciao from Italy
Carlo

What would you do?

I am retiring my 2011 12m Park. I was going to replace it with a 2012 12m Park to match my 2012 7m, 9m Parks. My local dealer is pushing me super hard to get a 12m Ride in place of a 12m Park. WHY would the dealer be so damn hot on the Ride?

I can't demo the Ride right now because I busted four ribs recently. I want to buy a kite (at end of year pricing) before the 2012s are all sold out.

Ride or Park? I thinking Park. What do you think?

For what it's worth I I have been riding for seven years and ride only directionals. 12m is my light wind kite.

Cheers,
Nik

Hmm, it is a little hard to say why. If you already have a favorite I would say go for it. In terms of the 2012 Park. It has more power than the 2011, but though I have not ridden the 12 ride much, the low end on the ride seems to be even better on the ride if I compare the 10 ride to the park (2012).

The difference is mainly that the ride is a sheet and go type kite, and the park generates more from sineing and moving the kite. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I like both kites a lot. :-)

How do you generally ride? If you go ride, you get a 2013 kite..so maybe that is why?

So can anyone who has used the 2013 ATB bar explain to me how the 18" and 20" settings work. By the looks of it you pull out a tab on each end and flip them, to make it 18", how does making the attachment point smaller on the bar work if the point where the line leaves the bar ends stays the same? do the bar ends slide in or out as well?

Thanks
Pete

No kiting, just busy working, so I can still buy some Naish kites in the future :D
It is as you describe, you flip the tab. No sliding bar ends. I think the difference is that the point where the force of the line goes into the bar changes but it still exits the rubber end part at the same point.
To be honest I think the change is not that big but I still tend to have look if have set it right for the kite size. Wide: 12/9, Narrow: 7/5

Thanks Dirk... I thought I was missing something, guess not.

Thanks for taking time out to reply, I suppose I am spoiled. If I posted on Dimitri's EPIC thread I would've already had 10 responses, an email from Dimitri with a video of how it all works and a couple of haters complaining about it... lol!

Thanks
Pete

Funny how it works in the Naish thread - isn't it? No pimpers, no haters...

As far as the Naish bar goes - bar ends are flexible it does change things but the adjustment method as such isn't as effective as the one used on North or your best friend's bars.

Cheers!
