I have 88 kg and I was riding Rebel size 12 and a board 42 cm wide easily in 12 knots , then I changed the board for a 40,5 cm wide, and lost 2 knots in low end, so I need at least 14knots to have some fun.
I´m realy upset about that , and thinking of changing for a Rebel 13 to gain this 2 knots, but i´m afraid the kite is slower, havier , less agile and with different AR. Has someone compared both? Are the changes from 2012 to 2013 significant?

Why North again ?
Their marketing is stronger and better than their products.
There are 11m and even 10m kites which will give you planning at 12 knots with a 42 cm wide board - and you will be paying less.

Peter, there are kites that will get you planning sooner, but i bet they don't behave as same as a rebel.
The guy likes his rebel and is not asking about another model, don't be a troll.
Michelks, i have used the 12m and 9m from my friends, and i'm thinking about buying a 13 and a 11(I weight 98kg).
Hope someone help you with this cause i'm interested aswell in their thoughts.

Hi guys. I weigth 90k and got myself 7-10-13 Rebel 2012.
I have to say I was lil bit perplex as far as buying a 13m cause I hate slow and heavy kites
I am not saying the 13m is as fast as the 12 (cause that's b/s) but I have to say that the 13m is a pretty pleasant kite.
I was out strapless yday while all my friends with 12m couldn't even waterstart.
I thought of selling my 13m for a 12m but after yday I am sold! 13m all day long.
But it depends also what is your smaller kite.
Jumping from 9m to 13m would be too much. If u have a 10m than a 13M is the perfect complement.
With recent kites a 3m gap between kites, maximize the sweet spot on the water.
Hope that helps

got 8, 10 and 12 .I
Er president, we weight the same and now I agree that 13 may be the best complement for the 10.
How was the wind speed when you had that session yday?
Hmattar , consider 3 sizes gap for rebel ,14 -11 or 13- 10 (10 is fast and powerful in 18kts).

Michel-
I spent a good bit of time on 2012 Rebel 12m and 13m, switching back and forth. And both I and the other rider agreed that they were very similar feeling, that the 13 felt like it was exactly 1m more powerful and slow, but that it was a very small and subtle difference. If you're happy with the 12, I think the 13 will be exactly what you're looking for. But as always, I recommend you try before you buy.
Hope this helps.

Hi michelks I used the 13m and the North Wam 6'0" in 14knots and I was lit. The 13m was perfect.
I have to disagree with Dan about the kite speed though.
The 13m is more powerful and slower. And it's not subtle.
Don't believe anybody that tells you that a kite bigger than 12m is fast like a 12m cause it 's not.
But to be honest in light wind a stable powerful kite is what you need and turning speed matters less anyway.
Hope that helps

I changed my quiver from 2010 10 and 14 EVOs to 2012 10 and 13 EVOs. I am very happy with the change.
The gap between 10 and 13 is perfect, and the kite behave exactly how i expected, less power than the 14 (but sofficient) and faster.

North doesn´t have dealers in São Paulo-Brazil, where we can try before buying, so we buy when traveling and pray
. One Kite around here costs US$500-800 more than in USA.
