Not everyone 'gets' auto-zenith...

... and I always love how "locals" claim a piece of public access land - or better yet, the whole ocean - as THEIRS  mind you, I've not ever been to 'crowded' spots...

We've had demo days here... they're like little groupie sessions, where you have to suck up to the star of the show for favours  I usually ignore them but...

On one demo day, I was flying the S3 21 in the morning cos the wind was a tad light - one particular rep dropped his kite and couldn't relaunch it... drifted into the beach for about 15 minutes  seriously dude, it wasn't THAT light!

Then after I FINALLY got a demo kite organized, that guy had the check to try to teach me how to fly it  dude I own three of this model, I think I got it ;)

Also - pumping up 20 kites then laying them out all over the beach so nobody else can launch just fucks me right off.

so if it was a regular kite flying alone ( those big kid kites) , that would have been different? some of those kites fly for hours attached to something..... i don t see the difference , may be he should have disconnected the rear lines so noone could steer it? :jump:

I think it is dangerous have a kite in the air and walk away.

Yeah, super stable, but don't forget the risk!

Other kiters, kids, maybe wind shifts and storm etc.

Nothing is 100%!!!

Bottom line :

It's not a territorial thing by the locals

It's a self policing thing, in California and some other places across U.S.A kiters are being kicked out and denied access.

I understand the stability of those kites, but it's not about you! The guy was asked by the "locals" to bring it down and he ignored them

Again, "locals" does not imply "territorial ". It implies that they know we are being monitored and they are trying to keep access open.

Respect the community of kiters.
