Exactly, this is good advise. Kiteloops on the water is a great way to learn exactly how much extra pull that your particular kite will deliver when you loop it. They'll also let you get a good sense of the timing. For a beginner it's better to learn all this on the surface rather than trying to get the timing right while up in the air and falling towards the surface.
