Recommendation on cold weather kiteboarding gloves

NP 5mm 3 finger mitts....Excellent, very warm and very little hand cramping. Buy the ones with armour skin....thay last much longer..

Oh just noticed your armour skin comment above - missed that first time round!!!
Could you comment on sizing for the Armourskin model? Just buy my normal size?

The hunting reflex is great. you just rig with bare hands, and go stick em in the lake for a good minute so they get real cold, then go get your wetsuit on and let them warm back up to beet red, then ride and they will be warm for hours.

This is true, but hurts like f*ck until hands re-heat!

In 15years or so i've tried everything and still yet to find the perfect solution. However, these look the best/closest yet... anyone any experience with them regarding forearm cramps and unhooking??

3 mm liquid seam gloves,
waterproof and never flush through down the cuffs due to a soft O ring sort of seal.
very stretchy, tight fit is best to maintain dexterity in the fingers.
I buy size small which fit more easily when used a few times, size medium slide on easily but you loose the ability to fix larks head knots etc,
this is a major drawback in most of the winter gloves i have used in the past.

Also - do they give you crsmps at all? Say after 3hrs session?

temps typically found in the west coast of Wales in deep winter, ruddy freezing, with snow flurries and water that will give you ice cream head if you fall in without a full hood on.
no cramps whatsoever, mega flexible and pre bent,no water flush.
just ensure they are too tight when trying on from bone dry, then they are just the best at keeping your hands free from the dreaded STINGS

I am not sure about 1.5 mm thickness as i get this joints pain from cold after the session. Don't really notice cold while kiting, but became sensitive later recently, bum...
Do you think 3mm version of those Psycho DL would work as well and will be as flexible? Did you try the 3 mm version?

Below 3C I let a cup of cold water in each of my 3 finger glove. Water heats up from my palm and circulate inside, so my fingers stay warm even 3 hours of my session.

I don't know. They made a 5 finger glove for the past few years. I have two seasons in a pair (around 30 sessions) and they've been great. Very flexible and holding up well. Should get another couple seasons out of them. They flush for sure, like any glove. I don't really care about flushing. I like them loose.

Hunting reflex is good, but you need good gloves as well.

However, do not buy glovers too small/short on fingertips!!! This will kill your blood circulation on fingers, and that’s the place your hands get cold.

Rip curl flash bomb 3mm 5finger gloves are great. With those I can go to 2C air/water for hours. Then for colder Flash bomb lobster. They have extra layer at wrist to stop water flushing. Really good!

I am convinced that thicker gloves are not the answer to this problem, over the years I have collected and wasted so much money on gloves that frankly have not worked as I wished.
some 3mm ones nearly did but wore through within a few weeks use, as the rubber was too soft and sticky,
these gloves last me 2 years of hard use before they wear through the finger ends caused by digging in hard hard sand to weight my kite down,
even then they are still good for less cold days, getting a tight fitting pair means they don't allow air gaps at the finger tips or in the palm area, still super flexible and this allows for fine finger work on the line ends,
and important for me is to easily insert the little screws in my foil wing parts.
the grip the gloves offer is great, and being so snug you can grip the bar easily without holding on too tightly,
finally dumped my collection of expensive dive type gloves which I refused to dump years ago as the were like new and cost quite a bit, but were useless and then when i took up foilboarding they were even less likely to ever get used/
