On the 19th jan, I sprained my right ankle. It's the top part of the ankle on the front and the tendon on the inside of my foot. When it happened I felt a bit of pain in my ankle, but nothing too bad, so I kept on kiting for another 4 hours. (Ps. I landed two new tricks so I was really stoked). Anyway when I got home and had a shower my foot blew up and was really painful. It too 9 days just to be able to bear weight on it. Then it too another week start to hobble around. I started wearing a light brace but after seeing a Physiotherapist and begun walking around and doing my stretches and strengthening exercises. All going well I thought, and started thinking about my next kiting trip.
Then 2 nights ago, I went to sleep and woke up with an excruciating ankle that was swollen and I couldn't barely put weight on it. Today, was a little better, but I'm back on the crutches and the ibuprofen and ice to bring down the swelling.
Question? WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?
Did I push it to much too quick? Did I respiran it?
What should I do now? I'm thinking of getting a moonboot, like the Aircast fp walking boot and isolating the ankle all together. I'm going to go and see another physiotherapist this week, but do any of you have any advice?
It feels like after the last month and a bit, I'm back to square 1! Aghhhh! I'm beginning to not want to kite again EVER!
