Hi,
After some lessons I preparing to buy my 1st kites and was thinking about the Naish Ride, in 12m and 7m sizes.
I'm 90 kg (200lbs) and riding at south european waters.
What do you think? Is the Ride a good choice for me?
Thanks in advance!

The Ride would be a great kite for you, but that's way too big of a gap in sizes. 12m and 9m would be a lot better. As a beginner, you probably shouldn't go out when the wind is high enough to need a 7m.

Aloha, what are the wind range you are looking to use them in? I also think 12 7 might be a big leap...I have the new 11 and it is used a lot.

I have a 10 and 8 meter Ride. I think it is the best kite to start to kite. Easy to launch, fly and jump. Also if you look around you can find them for $500 US new for a 8 meter. Get the Universal bar .

Have been riding the 2014 Ride a lot lately and it's really good. Definitely one of my favorite kites out there right now. Here's the full video review if you're interested:

We use Rides for lessons at our kite school.. The kite is very light due to only having 2 struts , so even the smallest sizes will fly in light winds. This makes it great for teaching lighter people in lighter winds. I think it's an excellent beginner kite if you're under around 170 pounds.
However, the usual feedback that we get from our heavier students, and customers who demo this kite is that it doesn't have enough grunt. The 2 strut frame just doesn't have enough rigidity to deal with all the beginner inefficiencies at higher weights. It may still work well for cruising or riding waves , but i wouldn't recommend it to heavier guys starting out.
