F-one Tribal 2 lines help

Postby maradon1 » Fri Dec 06, 2013 3:59 am

Hey all!

I got old F-one Tribal 2 but need some help... :)

There is lifeline going from kite together with front line. Then it goes through the ring on power/depower strap. Then I would expect it to go through the bar to chicken loop with the ring for safety leash on the end or something like that...

But it doesn't go through the bar. It's just loose with ring on the end.

Can somebody tell me what is the catch of this setup?

Thanks!

(There is picture from manual. life line is yellow, u can see how it goes thru ring on the top of power adjust. to that point is same like my setup...)

Ok. I have one idea - the hole in this bar is pretty small. Maybe somebody just took it out not to wear center line that fast? :/ but what did he do with that loose end of lifeline :D

I didn't try how long that lifeline is when attached though (it's -25F) I'll try it if it'll be little warmer... but looks like it's long exactly how it should be to go all the way through the bar to chicken loop...

As far as i remember It should go through the bar.
I guess you should try emailing Fone.
My advice is - if the kite has been used regularly through the years then ditch it. if not then it's a barely OK kite in today's standards so reconsider getting a newer model.

Yeah, thanks. I know it should go through the bar. It'd work as a 4 line (basically 3 line) as well, but I was just wondering why somebody did that... maybe just for relaunching... but it's pretty easy without that 5th line too...

BTW newer model... NO WAY! Now this is my favorite kite! :D
