Alternate choices (cheaper then Speeds) for light wind

Postby mattthieu » Tue Feb 11, 2014 4:34 am

all in the tittle.

going to buy soon a pansh aurora 19m, but, willing to consider any options

speeds are FAR to expensive ( 3 or 4 ) specially in big sizes ( nothing to say about quality and so on, they are great, but, to expensive )

why foils : cause, pumped ups dont relanch in very light winds where they can ride with very ( own made ) big boards so, IF you hit a windhole, your dommed and you swim in....

any sugestions ????

Lets see what pricing the ozone chrono comes out with. That could very well be a game changer.

Yep there is a reason you dont see hundreds of them at the beach. You pay for what ypu get. Youwould be bbetter of with a second hand speed 3

hey, thanks for the answers !

actually, i'm riding pansh auroras right now as my winter kites and find them great

the 12m is a hell of a kite, fast, light bar pressure, turn on itselfs if needed, jumps verry hight and floats well, with nice depower. as for the build, i was thinking cheap looking but, have them since 2 years, and, NOthing has wear nothing was broke, still like new aspect, zippers still holding.....

on the snow i'm usually out there when others are on 15 and 17m inflates and can stay there until they get the 10 12m.

i'm owning a 15m also, and, it is way slower but it alowes me to ride when there is quite no breze on the snow ( if it can get into the air i can ride ).

i fucking made 5 fifth in a race last year in the coupe du quebec, close behind a elf ( more or less 12m ) 2 speeds 15m, one north 12m inflate and me with the 12m aurora. all riders before me lots of experience.....

auroras are not bad kites, they are hight aspects, they are not plug and play, but once tuned they are cool..... of course, not as achievec as speeds, BUT, price 700 shiping, taxes in for 19m, versus 3000 plus tx plus shiping for speed 3 ( not even the 4 ). it rides VERY good..

Just want to consider what's alos out there ?

maybe a new super light inflate ? spleen x ? peter lyns ?

why on earth are inflates so wide branded and foils just limited to one compagnie. ???

SO, ideas anyone ?

interesting option to consider.

probably impossible to relaunch in the waves but, so are foils.......

only concern : 1500 dollars.........kite only

but really, could be cool to try ! someone in canada has one ?

The C2 is listed on the website as being available from March/April.

They seem to have some C1 17m kites left which are cheaper at $1100 kite only. With a bridle mod that doesn't cost anything, from what I have read, the top end of the C1 is improved and the kite will then weigh 3.02 kg.

There will be a review of the C2 17m on another thread about Average Joe's testing lightwind. kites.

Few reviews have said there ok

Their very tempting considering the 22m will only cost you $779 which I think is around 600 pounds in the uk. Very cheap compared to the 21 flysurfer

Any opinions on the bigger sizes?
