Where I ride water there are only very unfriendly shorelines (no beach). Do you think Chrono could be launched and landed from a boat? How would this be done?
I think most closed cell foils have to pre-inflated prior to launch so finding a way to do that might be a challenge on a boat. You could contact Ozone for ideas.

I know someone who does it all the time a 21m Speed3 from a boat with 90% success rate.
All you need is an electric Leaf Blower to fully pre-inflate on the boat
and than do a drift launch.
The landing I'm not sure he didn't tell me that but as soon as I know I let you know

I think the short term answer might be yes. but most definitely the long term answer is no!.....
The waterproof coating only lasts so long.... once its gone that foil will soak up water and no launch. if it does launch it will fly like shit for ages beacause its heavy as hell.
rule one of foils. don't get em wet. don't fly them in the rain!.... stock with inflatable my man for your application.
The water launching is no sweat, once you get the hang of it...just like in the video...and that is a huge kite in light wind. It does take some tequnique and planning. I do it regularly.
It gets easier with smaller kites in stronger winds.
The landing is a different story. If you don't have somewhere to take the kite and pack it up, it can be a pain in the ass. I would imagine trying to water pack any kite would be a pain in the ass though...
As for the wet kite sucks comment, depends on the fabric...the newer thinner fabrics don't hold much water, even when old, so not a big issue these days. It will dry quickly in the air.
Seems to be good windrange on the Chrono 12. Had it out in 18-21 knot today. No problem except some small lofting on land . Had to change the jumping technic a bit in this conditions . I got the highest jumps when I had the kite high and turned it just a bit and pulled in the bar. Straight vertical lift up like an elevator. When I tried to boost with a lot off power and speed I mostly went far downwind. Felt more like a airplane taking off opposite to an elevator going up. No video this time. Sorry.
For me the windrange seems to be 8-22 knots maybe a bit more if there no gusts.

Sounds like a Speed 1.
Hairy on the beach, once on the water you're OK and you cannot go into a jump at full tilt... just ease the kite above you and up you go!
Actually sounds like any very high aspect wing actually. Even the the edge lei liked to be boosted like this in crazy conditions, it drags your sorry ass down to the water whether you like it or no (as your kite should not be in any position loft you IMO), yet on the water it's controllable.
What weight and what board were you on? Choppy or flat conditions?
Thing is I don't know if many retailers will have these as demos ?? Hope so...
