What's your plan if you have 4 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday), a kite, a surfboard, and a car in Santa Barbara?
Where do you have to ride?
Where do you have to camp?
What do you have to see?
I'll be there for a wedding April 4-7, I've been kitesurfing for a decade, and I'm used to crappy Texas gulf surf. I've kited Waddell before but that's my only experience with west coast kiting and I got me stoked for more.

Give me a holla when you are ready...I'll either be riding or I can point you in the right direction. I own the only kite school in SB.

Awesome. Done and done.
Thanks guys.
One more thing. Any camping spots you really like in the general area (doesn't have to be super close, I have a car after all).

There are plenty of spots to camp but you better call around and see what's even available. Jalama would be a great start if you are ready for some real wave riding and crazy wind conditions. If you want more forgiving waves head south to Emma Woods and camp at the state park. Our spring season just started so hopefully you will score some good days while you are in town.

How is Santa Barbara in early October? Kite sizes? I ride a twin tip. Thanks in advance for suggestions!

Oct. is the tail end of our season...However, it can produce some great days. What's your weight?

Bring your 14 and 12 if you plan to ride in SB. Or bring you 12 and 9 if you want to ride in Ventura. In a nutshell, SB will probably be light and Ventura will be your best bet for decent winds if it blows.
Hope that helps.
