A quick question regarding the above. For 2014, are the bars all the same length for all kites sizes? I have 12m and 8m 2014 Switchblades with the same (adjustable) bar. I was just wondering if the smaller kites use the same bar or not.

Yes, the Switchblades all use the same 1X bar. Adjust wide or narrow to your liking - I've been using the wide setting on 14m and 11m, and plan to use narrow setting on 8m.
The 1XL bars are only for Contra model.
Speaking of the 1X bar, has anyone noticed theirs sinks? A buddy and I were kiting over the weekend and noticed both of ours sunk like rocks - they weren't even neutrally bouyant. Though it's claimed on Cab's website the complete control system floats. Just curious...

Thank the stupid heavy adjustable linkage for the brickness of the bar

They probably only tested them in salt water....?

That being said, I fly my 14m Switchblade on the 1XL bar (wide setting) and prefer it that way.

I've been using it since October here in Egypt Red Sea (salt water) and it does sink like rocks.

Oh dear, now that you guys mention it I've completely unhooked once in large surf when the wind was too light to relaunch and I never saw the bar again till I got to the beach. I thought maybe the large surf was keeping the bar under water while I swam in. This could be a bit of a problem if it were to get caught on a underwater object like a rock or pipe. I find the adjustable bar end a bit too gimmicky and would prefer if there were a choice of a simpler non adjustable bar.

I like the adjuster very much. Don't like the weight of the bar though...
