Hey there everyone.
I'm currently the owner of a Best Kahoona 13.5. I'm sure that most ppl know that on the Kahoona there is no center strut. I'm looking to place a GoPro somewhere centered on the kite to get that cool aerial Kite-looking down shot. Placing the camera on one of the off-centered struts is going to look awkward, and not really the shot I am looking for. So far all I've come up with; is clipping the Go Pro into the pump tie on and gorilla taping the camera to the leading edge. Not exactly glamorous, but figured it might be worth a shot.
Anybody out there run into this? Or any ideas/solutions. I figured I couldn't be the only one
Thanks!

I had a short "false strut" made out of pipe insulation and some lycra and then stitched it to the kite canopy . It worked OK, but it was not ideal, there always seemed to be a little flutter and shaking. I prefer the center strut on a 5 strut kite.

Thanks for the quick reply. Do you have any pics of what it looks like? I'm curious to know exactly how you did it.
Thanks again

sorry, no pics.
i had a 12" long piece of pipe insulation (approx 4" o.d.) and had this covered with some lycra. with some reinforcing bands of nylon webbing.. I stitched a velcro patch to the front end and glued the other half of the patch to the kite leading edge to help stabilize. I then stitched the lycra/foam tube to the canopy in 4 spots.
It worked...sort of...but if you have 3 kites you need 3 of these tubes.
I ended up going back to a 5 strut kite for this and other reasons.
I liked the smaller Kahoonas, but not the big ones...but I ride a different brand now...CORE.

You can still get pretty cool shots with it off-centered, you just have to point it in the right direction

Wow!
Is that really on an off centered strut? I'm on my way to but those supplies to make the center strut, but may hold off if thats just a camera adjustment on an off centered strut.

both of those pictures are on kahoonas so yes it's not on a center strut (because it doesn't exist

That last one is a really sweet shot, and exactly what I was looking for! Does the camera affect the flyability of the kite at all? Also, for that second shot did you angle the camera inwards/outwards a little or just center it? Sorry for the questions, just would like to end up with some shots like that second picture you posted
Thanks!
