Chinese Canopies?

Postby danglerdog » Mon May 26, 2014 7:10 pm

What's your experience so far with the new Chinese material? Just repaired my first one, (last years Cabrinha) and it was shredded instead of the usual straight tear.

I know Cab switched over to the presumably cheaper cloth (two years ago?) and many seem to be following suit. Best I think has, who else?

Time will tell if it's a good alternative to Teijins monopoly for many years, or just a bottom line boost for kite companies.

How it holds up over time, resistance to stretch, UV damage, what's your experience?

They rip ugly that's a fact. I actually turned down one repair because it would be too costly and not as precise as with regular ripstop.
