Will you get a chance to compare the 2013 Dyno 17m to the new Dyno 18m and when possible, Juice 18m?

Which of all the kites you tried, feels the closest to the good old 2011 Dyno 18m?

cheers,

Robbie :D

Hey Billy,

I was just explaining to the missus the idea of the new bridle connection points on the new Dyno and she says, "how will it relaunch", and " how about self launching" ?? Good question so have you tried and was it any different to previous kites?

cheers,

Robbie :D

Relaunch, was simple, I have drift launched it in the water easily, but I have yet to self launch on land with it. But all seems fine in the launching aspects.

I sold my 2013 17m to a local cat, if he is out, I can do some switching off, but based on the feel of the two kites, the new 18 should make you bigger guys happy. The new bridle just supports the kite so well, I could be blind and there maybe some thing that goes crazy when it is overloaded, but I haven't experienced it yet. I could make the 2013 get a little crazy when climbing with out bar pressure, maybe a flap or three on the way through the window, but not with the new ones..yet.

The juice 18m must be crazy, in 2011 I had a 18m that would treat me like a little bitch, and just have its way with me, I was always going for the depower rope, this new juice does have a little of that holey shit, please don't be a huge gust, character. I really want to jump this thing, even doing tacking transitions it wants to pick you up. It really is just fun and easy.

The dyno is just a machine, at feels so mechanical, like a sports car, and the juice is a big old beach dune buggy. I will try and do a short video.

That would be awesome billy, I'm intrigued by the new bridle config on this new dyno.

I concur with your experience with the 2013 dyno by the way.

Talked to Danny at Ocean Air who talked to some guy named Craig Cunningham I think (North Rider?) - anyhow he said the Juice 15m likes to fly "back" in the window vs the Dyno which is forward. Obviously more hangtime on the Dyno. Billy - do you feel that by sitting back in the window that the Juice is a bit of a bear to get upwind? Or does it lend to any light wind wave sessions? Anything redeeming about sitting back in the window? Can the Juice jump any good?

The juice will "drift"back in the window when the lines are slacked, or you move toward the kite, this makes it super fun, and will make it so fun in the surf !!! But it will charge to the edge of the window and rip upwind when you load the front lines. This makes it great up wind.

I have been having lots of fun with this thing, Rode it back to back with Dynp 18 again last night, just a great playful kite.

Cheers billy. Any chance you could get some pictures maybe from behind the kite with lines attached, pulled taught so I could see the interaction of the rear and front lines relative to the bridle? Or is that just asking to much...lol :D

Very interesting indeed. You mentioned a mystery slippery leading edge material...the 2011 leading edge could qualify the same description.
