La Ventana in December?

Postby tmcfarla » Tue Jun 17, 2014 8:27 pm

I am considering heading to La Ventana around Christmas. It sounds like the wind is very reliable, but can anyone who has been there speak to a few other things:

1.) Is there any decent hiking in the area for windless days (or do windless days just not happen?)

2.) What are the crowds like around Christmas?

3.) If you had a week in December, would you head back there or would you go somewhere else in North or Central America. I've been in Bahia Salinas a few times and am looking for something different.

4.) It looks like this will be an El Nino year, is that likely to wreck the wind out there in December?

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Good question. I usually spend Xmas on the Yucatan side but may try Baja this year. A HUGE contingent of folk from Hood River area over winter in Baja every year
