I'm going to chime in again. As others have said loops will become part of your riding once you're comfortable with them so if your still getting them integrated then i'd suggest you get really comfortable with surface loops in the rest of your regular kiting. Do some committed and not committed, play with hand position and sheeting to see how your kite reacts. Even let the kite crash, all of it will give you a better idea of how you and your kite will respond and build reactions etc.

Kite loop backrolls are such a cool feeling, one of my favorite tricks. :)

I learned kiteloops 10 years ago on old c kites. There's no comparision. Kitelooping on the majority of kites today is not a big deal.Just take the advice given and go with it.You can do the wimpiest kiteloops with no life ending consequences.I find myself waiting for the biggest gusts to loop in and I'm disappointedif I'm not maxed out! You'll see in a year or two. :thumb: Oh and one other thing, learn both directions at same time,or you'll be mad at yourself later like I am :angryfire: Lenten on left hand forward and dopey noob right hand

I was watching this kiteloop tutorial video, at 1:25 he talks about rotating the bar to loop the kite , so it stays overhead, and doesn't develop much horizontal power. I don't quite understand what he means. Anyone care to explain this a bit better for me, please?

not sure why the video is just showing the link and not the video itself.

rotate is the wrong word

he means pull in one side of the bar all the way in. check the diagram at 1:30 how the left side of the bar is completely pulled in and the right side all the way out. That's how you get a helicopter loop. I wouldn't say "rotate" though that sounds like you are moving a steering wheel. "Tilting" the bar might be better.

anyway that's what he meant.

Yes I remember landing my first kiteloop. Perfectly smooth landing.

However the whole thing was unintentional and off the top of a big wave.
Just trying to get over the wave and timed it wrong. Everything went ass up.
Kite was diving hard so no chance in turning it back so loop it went.
Somehow I came down hot but landed clean and rode away like it was all planned. :thumb:

I remember that first kiteloop, I mean the real first one, just like I remember my first solo bike ride.

Just so happens I landed the first one real easy.

I have also hurt my ribs on a couple of 'em too. So... be ready for impact!

Best way to go about it is to try n get your jumping transitions down real good, you hear? Then, on one of them jumps set up perfectly for a transition... puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuull!

check list:

1) low wind day? maybe for practising, yeah, but it won't be a kiteloop for sure.
2) type of kite? I fly a FUEL. Can't wait to get a 9M RPM.
3) stoke level? in spanish... jala duro mamonnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!

ok, makes sense now. I understand how the guys do it in the other videos when I see them pulling on one side of the bar when they're unhooked. But, this explanation , and using the word rotate, got me confused. I am now assuming the guy just doesn't speak english well/not his native tongue.

Vlad Postelnicu is romainian. I dont like some of videos like the one that recommends kitelooping as a safety technique but the one you shared is good. I do agree with him that kiteloops at least helicopter kiteloops should be taught more often. Not much right now in way of instruction.
