I got a used 2012 Xride and I can’t set the fins.
I looks like the bolts are too long, so they reach the bottom of the screw before they tight the fin. No matter how much I tight the bolt, the fins stay loose. I don’t want to over tight and brake something.
I asked the guy who sold me the board. He says there were no spacers or washers and the fins were tight when he took them out.
Can anybody who own this board tell me if there are washers or spacers between the bolts and the fins?
The fins are North FR 490mm
The bolts seem to be the original ones.
I think I will try putting a washer in between or maybe file the bolts a bit to make them shorter. Any comments about this? Not a good idea? Other solutions?
Thanks

No idea about the board, but that's one of the purposes of washers. My LF boards all have little plastic washers between the screw and the board

Yes. I saw those plastics on some boards. That could help.
I didn't have a North board before, so I don't know if mine should have something like that as well.

There are no washers on my 2011 Xride, and fins are tight.

Thanks.
I took out the fins again and found that two of the fins have little bar drawn with sharper pen, while the other two fins have a little dot.
May they have a particular position?

I have an X-Ride and have not experienced this at all. My fins have been off and on a fair bit as I travel with my kit and they fit wherever I put them, maybe you don't have the original bolts and they're a bit too long???

Yes, that may be the case. I got the board used, so I can't tell if the bolts are the originals.
Since it doesn't take washers or spaces, I will try filing down the bolts a bit.
Thanks

filing down the bolts sounds a lot harder than just buying a handful of spacers for a nickel.

Whilst buying a handful of bolts is obviously going to be a lot "easier" you don't really want the bolts protruding much if you have to use more than one on each fin. I would suggest going to your nearest North stockist with the board and trying a proper X-Ride bolt, if this fits perfectly buy a set for probably not very much, if it doesn't....then sounds like somehow you have a rogue board.

Yes. All solutions seem good. Getting new bolts seem to be the cleaner option. The board is in very good condition, as well as the fins and the bolts.
I don't think the board is rogue, because all the fins bolts sockets look the same. It would be weird that all got worn in the same exact way.
Getting washers or spacers is the solution I like the least, because it would be adding something that the board doesn't need.
I think I will stop by the store with board, fins and bolts and compare with a brand new set up.
Thanks for the comments!
