Maui vs Mauritus ? wind and Waves

I am puzzle .. a plane ticket at 800$ for Maui and 1400$ for mauritus i don't mind a LEFT or are RIGHT. We already visited maui we know will hit but Mauritus we are unclear ...

So Boys and girls would you go to MAUI or Mautitus

Mauritius is an excellent alternative: better access to a wider range of wave options (little reef, Manawa, One Eye), safer launch options (than at Lanes for example) and more reliable trade winds, much lower prices for accommodation, transport and entertainment than in Maui or Brazil for that matter. One downside is cooler temperatures and water (22-23C) during the southern winter...
If you have time, Rodrigues is a real gem as well (albeit less developed)!

the best is August, Sept and October but for December to Feb you like Waves Barbados is ON

Is there enough wind in december and january? Mostly looking for flat water so not so important with big waves

Mauritius. 60km of reef protected flatwater lagoons. Epic downwinders. World class waves. Super exotic location.
