I can see the appeal of kiting pretty much wherever wind meets water, but completely agree with Plummet on the fact that most shots of places show little in the line of great conditions. That very first post not withstanding. The physical uniqueness and obvious potential for amazing riding there ...... yeah, the place looks stellar. I wanna go, but most others don't top many of the snapshots in my minds eye.

Perfect glass along the leeward edge of the islands in the sound of OBX!

Killer perfect waves with spitting barrels off the other side of the dune.

Evenly spaced perfect half pipe great lakes waves marching toward shore at SBX here in Ontario.

Even the perfection of untouched powder snow laid into a nice big bay just waiting like a blank canvas.

I hope for better shots of better conditions. Not just spots, or more spots like moose land!

The Flats, Cayo Guillermo

In low tide the water drops anywhere from 3-12 inches deep. Super flat, very windy. There is a causeway that passes right through it, so inland side is always flat no matter windy or tide conditions.

The title of the thread is " Pics or YOUR fav kiting spot" not pictures of best kite spots in the world.
My favorite spot is the one I can get to on a daily basis, not once a year if I am lucky.
Wind and water , good parking , no restictions , soft sandy beach, that's all I need.

Like I mentioned I can dig it anywhere, but my local certainly isn't my favorite.

OBX is hard to beat for consistent wind and flat water (or waves on the ocean side). Even outside of the slicks, there are just miles and miles of shallow water. This picture was 25+ knots, not a particularly protected spot, and chop is less than 6":
