Has been a long time since the wind has been around so I started looking at some of my old pics. This is a place in Queensland Aus where you can only get to by 4x4 along the beach (got bogged in the sand a couple of times). You have to go and leave on low tide and you are stuck there for 6 hours wether there is wind or not. It has a glassy flat lagoon and an opening to the ocean you can kite in and out of. One on my favorite days ever. I was there on holiday and the wife thought I would only be gone for a couple of hours......well I can't control the tide.

Where in Queensland is this? I'm heading to Byron Bay and Fraser Island for a week in December, any advice on where to go?

sick spot - and great surf too.... no idea where it is
(wink) been ridden a place similar this for 10 years - unfortunately the sand has shifted - it was probably one of the greatest kite spots on earth during that time - mirror flat in 30 knots huuuge area of waist deep water. will post some old pics in another 10 years if it doesn't come back to its former self.

First photo is Chapin beach Cape Cod. Great beach with flat water slicks at mid , low tide and swell and wave on the outside, surf can get crazy here on Northerly's about an hour and 20 minutes from my home...
Last three photos are Nahant Beach just north of Boston, about 20 minutes from my home. Fantastic spot that can be sailed from almost any wind direction. Wave and swell can get huge by New England standards on NE,E...

Will have to say Playa Pilar in Cayo Guillermo, Cuba. Some islands to play around and dolphins!
Also, my home spot of Toronto. One of the best views especially from a kite!

I've got to admit. Most of these spots look horrible. Choppy water with no decent waves.

I've only windsurfed it so far to check it out, but its all sandy bottom less than chest deep except one narrow drainage channel.
