... looks like a bit of info is on the North web site:

http://www.northkiteboarding.com/products/kites/dyno/

Does anybody know, with the bridle attachments on the struts, do they need to be inflated to a different pressure to the LE, and if so, what psi, does North recommend a certain psi??

... anybody???

Does it say on the kite, "do not use 4 line bar"?

What pressure do the struts have to be to keep it stable since the bridle is on the struts?

cheers,

Robbie :D

Sorry for the delay on responding. Ken had some thoughts on a few questions on this string...

"- The Dynos all fly fine on 4 lines, which is how racers fly them
- The oh-shit safety is not great with a Dyno on a North 4-line bar, so we don't recommend it

I know, it's not ideal, but it has to do with our efforts to optimize bars for the majority of kites that we sell. We want V lengths to remain consistent across different line lengths (20, 22, 24, 27) because V length affects kite feel. We also want V lengths to be as similar as possible between 4-line (18-meter V) and 5-line (14-meter V) bars.

There are also some questions about how the Dyno 18 jumps. Fact is, it can't compare with the 2011 Dyno or the 2015 Rebel 18. It turns too quickly for airstyle and doesn't have the best lift and hangtime. Sky and I have done quite a bit of jump testing and we don't think the big race kites in general, whether inflatable or parafoil, jump all that well. A big parafoil can jump ok, but it gives more hang than lift and the bar feel is indefinite."

Hope this answers some questions.

... thanks Dan!

Do the struts need to be at higher pressure than the LE? Is the LE still 6psi?

Cheers,

Robbie :D

I'm assuming it's the same PSI as years past. If I hear otherwise I'll let you know.

... reason I ask is because of the new bridles being attached to struts!

cheers,

Leading edge 8psi, struts up to 10psi.
The kite is super fast turning on 4 lines (18 turns almost faster than last years 13), but nervous when the wind picks up and the highend is not very good on 4 lines.
On 5 lines it's a bit slower, but super stable at the gusts and the highend is much better.
10 is freaky fast, which is a good thing going downwind, can only imagine how fast is the 7 (did not try it).
