Or close it in the freezer, lol I have heard a bunch of so called tricks and none of them panned out for me. I would figure by now they should of solved the fogging issues with smaller units but still hearing models on had issues that blows.
Rotule- I figured the most, so different conditions then the Big Island.

Never had an issue with Gopro 1, 2 and 3+. For the fog, just put RainX antifog inside

If I had a nickel for each one of these things I have seen mounted to a soft-top surfboard...

It's not the cold that does it. A/C dehumidifies the air.
Got this trick from a Surfer mag former staff photog who does it with his waterhousings.

We took a hero 2 to Cuba two years ago. When we returned after a week we had to take it back. Issues with fogging, battery overheating, half our footage didn't save. Last year I bought a Virb before the Cuba trip and I am still using it. Great little camera. Camera itself is IPX7 so perfect for kiting. Its never fogged and the battery never overheated. The Elite with GPS is selling for $279US now at gpscity, the standard $207US. I can use it on every gopro mount including camrigs. Great option for people who are looking.

Preview....
I'm sure reviews will be popping up all over, but here is the first one I saw.
CNET Hero4 Preview
I was happy to see the touch screen but then disappointed to see that it only comes on the Silver edition, not the black. (due to heat generated by the new 4K processor)
They also mention a new remote control. Finally...that may be the only reason I buy the 4. The current remote on the 3 and 3+ drops out all the time leaving the camera in an indeterminate state (the lights show that nothing is going on, the camera is frozen, BUT when you later inspect the memory card you'll find it was recording all along)

I believe the Sony Action cam has better picture quality... not necessarily better resolution. Just what I've heard from photography friends. If you need 4k then you need 4k, and the GoPro's certainly seem to capture great video.
If I get a new cam I will definitely try the Sony. It's a few grams heavier in its case but I trust Sony products and have had poor GoPro reliability in the past with one of my GoPro HD (old) cams.
GoPro are the market leaders by miles tho.
Got a kite line mount ready to go too
