On the same subject I am curious to find out how many football or soccer fan would skip a windy day kiting to watch their favorite team play live?
I am not a big sports tv fan so I wouldn't skip a kiting day over watching a game.

Hahaha.... classic.
I give up kiting sessions to watch my kids sporting events. As I assume any good father would.
But if its howling I'll be dying a little on the inside wishing I hadn't missed that epic session.

Kids are going to be tough indeed until you can bring them along kiting
My buddy has a 1 year old so he is missing most sessions as he doesn't really have local family to help out.
That one time his wife was busy so he brought the kid to the beach hoping there would be an opportunity to somehow kite.
After feeding the baby it fell asleep for 2 hours, some other buddies waiting for their kite lessons or taking a break took turns to watch the baby. We oriented the baby carrier thing so that it woudn't fill up with sand because it was blowing 20 knots that day with temparure in 55-60 degree F range.

Converting your spouse to kiting is definitely the way to go IMO

I am working on that. So far she has done 4 hours body dragging in the caribbeans but she won't get near the beach if it is less than 65 degree so no NY kiting until next spring for her.
Still hard to say whether she is going to enjoy it.
We need a baby sitter service at local kite spots but usually when it is a good day for kiting it is rarely a good day to hang out on the beach.

A kiting spouse sounds like a terrible idea if you have or plan on having young kids

Yep. Then you would have to split the available wind between you. When you have kids and the wife doesn't kite then you can take as many wind opportunities as practical as long as you can work in with her activities at non windy times.
