I recommend you to buy a new anemometer.
At that windspeed I am starting to be overpowered on my 9m C2 (83kg rider, 6' surfboard)
It is most likely a pilot error, but don't worry you just need to re-tweak the bar for high end to get more out of it,
like all strutless lovers here normally do :blabla: :naughty: :surf:
If the 13m C1 could handle gusty 30 knots the new 12m C2 can absorb more than that because of the
new solid airframe design, especially when you pump it hard like 20 psi  :prayer: :dance3:
Osprey1 wrote:I received my new Boardriding Maui strutless 13m kite and got a chance to ride it in very, very gusty conditions at Newcastle (near Seattle) today.
Surprisingly it was a really good ride in crappy gusty 7 - 30 knot conditions. Indeed it is a very interesting kite
as having no struts, weighing nothing and having a low AR it has an incredible low end.

When I launched at noon there was hardly any wind, 7 to 8 knots maybe,
and once up the kite charged upwind and I was nicely powered and having fun on the Paipo .
One concern I had was that when the kite hit 43 F degree water the kite would jellyfish
but this never happened and the airframe remained solid.

Aummm has clearly never flown a Cloud. This is just a longstanding personal vendetta.

Whereas the majority of those who post are trying to be honest and helpful (even if opinionated with our normal biases), he just tries to cause damage for reasons related to personal inadequacy. A personality disorder with paranoid features. He thinks it is funny to simply to vandalize.

I feel sad for someone who seems to get pleasure from simply trying a harm others, because I don't think it can truly be pleasurable. But it does get tiresome and I wish he would just stay away. I guess I wish for too much.

Agreed. It's really childish.

Now my challenge to the group of Clouded childish trolls, Not the BRM designer who is a nice guy :thumb:
Drop the raving lunatic style and have a reasonable educated technical discussion on the compromised issue of All Strutless :!:
If I may sound like I used my confidence a bit too much, then what do you expect since you guys provoked it with your biased
BS radiated 6 years old biased egoistic reviews.
My riding and technical skills of the facts, that I am superior to you in all circumstance,
since all of you were still only playing with your male genitals in the sand when I was already designing and flying airplanes.
Because I'm told I kite well whatever kite I use, so it doesn't bother me,
because I know I can't shut up uneducated bullies, so I'll carry on enjoying my kitesurfing without the worst kites of all Strutless.

:dontpanic:

you seem very educated and I think its pretty cool that you design airplanes. You'd probably also make a great kite designer with all your experience and knowledge

But I still think most kiters would rather hear reviews about a kite from people that have ridden it.

From my experience with Clouds, I would not recommend a cloud for every style of riding (they suck for big air and arent very fast on a raceboard/ foil) but for certain styles they can't be beat (wave riding and cruising on a foil)

"I am superior to you in all circumstance". That pretty much sums up your approach to others on kiteforum. I looked at all the strutless posts. I do not find the uneducated bullies, egoistic reviews, raving lunatic style, and childish trolls of whom you speak. Perhaps you do have an advanced degree in aeronautical engineering, perhaps you are the lead designer of airplanes actually built and flown many decades ago, perhaps you do kite well with every kite. But is there anything more egoistic that claiming "I am superior to you in all circumstance"?

I realize the futility of challenging a person who apparently has no insight into his own behavior. We are perhaps younger than you. We do not have aeronautical engineering education and design experience. Many of us are no doubt mediocre kiters with much less experience compared to you. But we fly different kites and simply want to share our experiences....as we experience them.

If you are seeking to educate, you have always failed. If you are seeking simply to alienate and disrespect others, then you succeed mightily. We like kiteforum enough to be here despite your presence. If you are seeking to make it as unpleasant as possible for others, you have succeeded. And since tearing down others seems to be the thing that supports your ego, I expect you will never stop.

With the respect you flown several type of kites, I have the same idea about Strutless kites without the BS radiation :thumb:
Hansen Design wrote:IMHO, the current strutless inflatable configuration is akin to 'painting oneself into a corner.' Certain compromises are required to compensate for the inherent lack of structure. Namely, a highly conical geometry with a tight, low-stretch trailing edge to maintain canopy inflation and flatter foil profiles to reduce luffing/bubbling/flapping. Combined, these attributes create a low AOA / sheeting range with sensitive handling and compromised range / VMG. Added complexity such as LE battens, TE battens, full battens, larger tubes, bridles, ram-air skins, etc. can ameliorate the compromises but when progressively applied also progressively negate the simplicity and low weight / cost. Ultimately, one must accept that (given the present state-of-the-art materials) it is a self-limiting construct. My 2ยข...

:thumb: to BRM for going ahead with it..
:congrats: also to Gigi, Bruno, Airush's Designer, Dimitry, Peter Cabrinha who recognized the limitations of Strutless
and abandoning the idea because of the consideration of user compliance and fun factor. :dance2:

Maybe you should try flying one so you can provide objective feedback? Since you mentioned Pete Carbinha, my Switchblade's are slow moving dinosaurs compared to the Clouds... But you knew that already based on your design skills right?
