After using my 11m Cabrinha Switch Blade for the first time I noticed a small tear while wrapping it up. The kite comes with a repair kit, can I just cut one of the pieces of tape it comes with and stick it on?

There are some guys in nyc that do professional repair using actual kite fabric. My friend had same kind of tear on his second session, they did great repair, stitches look like they are part of design. Pretty battle scar;)
Join and send a message on Facebook group kitehood. Someone will put you in touch with them.
They will repair it for like $25.

If I look at the tear I can see plastic inside that does not look torn. Is the bladder a separate piece from the outside material?
Jerome, I'll check that group out.

If it's a small enough tear you can just use the sail tape if u need to get going / short term. It will be fine. Longer term... get it stitched up. I've used sail tape on small tears before and it's fine

You can use the tape it came with. Clean canopy with isopropyl alcohol on both sides. Cut 2 pieces of tape and round the corners. Stick on both sides of canopy. Give it some time for the adhesive to cure. You will be good as gold.

I'm pretty sure the rip is on the leading edge.

OP- Get someone else to repair it. No offense, but your lack of knowledge about your kite is quite astounding.

Hard to tell from the photo if it's leading edge or not (or strut). If it's either leading edge or strut, that's a much different repair, and sail repair tape won't do it. Also, there's a good chance that the bladder inside the leading edge/strut would also be damaged. Don't pump up the kite to check--you're likely to blow out both the leading edge/strut and the bladder inside. Get somebody local who knows kites to help you figure it out.

what?
the plastic bladder being visible behind the tear
means its a bad tear on a strut or leading edge
and is indeed in need of professional repair
blow it back up slowly n carefully to confirm
said damage to be sure
