I just talked to a guy and he told me about Aruba.
First, very expensive, second, VERY gusty at Fishermen's hut.

There is a small bay http://locations.splocs.com/windsurf/lo ... randi.html

better winds, and a kitesurfer has a hotel close by...but don't remember the name

Maybe someone knows?

Yes, Cartagena is great! Should have daily winds, warm air and water. Nice places, hotel and apartments in front of the beach.

http://locations.splocs.com/kitesurf/lo ... uilla.html or Las Americas just a bit downwind.

Another alternative I am currently looking at is Puerto Rico...check www.splocs.com for locations.

Or Panama, Punta Chame. But not sure how long the wind is good there.

Other than that I don't know...but I think all (specially lower) Caribbean should have good winds.

Check the travel forum, two sticky topics with where to go by month: viewforum.php?f=83

Then check locations here: www.splocs.com

Yes...boquilla, that's what it was.
Big long beach and some big hotels.
Not crowded at all.
Very nice!

Aruba is a great place to go and kite because it's windy 80% of the time but again you have to know where are the good places to kite.

First of all like Toby said, it's a little expensive compare to other places, but you can always find some good deals. Also kiting where the kite clubs are is very gusty and that is not the only place to kite. So you will need to rent a car and travel.
But if you are staying near the big hotels and looking for waves go to the North West of the California Light house, or if the waves are big then go to Arashi Beach which is on the other side of the point before getting to the Light House. Or you can always kite on off shore gusty winds where all the kite clubs are (that is very painful, my 12 year old son Cameron hated it).
But if you want to venture and go to a better place to kite, then go to Boca Grandi or Bachelor's Beach. There you can kite in flat water or venture in the waves at the same time. Also you can always go to Baby Beach but you can kite there only from 6 am to 9 am. This place is amazing but it's only for swimmers.
Another place to kite will be near Savaneta Beach which has lots of mangroves and flat water. But In order to kite to the mangroves you will need to launch on the main land of Aruba, or get a boat.

Any way I hope these pictures will help. Check the red marks I put on the Aruba map. And make sure to get in touch with the local kiters.
