North Padre island of Corpus Christi will be pretty busy with spring breakers, so if you want to stay away from the crowds I would suggest staying either on the Southside of Corpus (Travelodge/motel 6, etc) or Downtown/Ocean Dr. area. (Omni/Radission/etc.)

During the spring/summer the prevalent direction will be SE & ESE with the most ideal riding areas/launches on the mainland facing Corpus Christi Bay (North Beach & Wildcat) and the Laguna Madre/Oso bay (Grassy-Bluff Marina, Lola, and Oso) for flat water, chop, and small waves.

We have a variety of spots but most are within about a 10-15 minute drive of each other so it's never a big issue to jump in the car to hit the next one. Windalert forcasts for the area are pretty good, and we have many pay and open source meters in the area, so it's easy to get a handle on the conditions.

If you are looking for open ocean and waves then you will need to hit the island, you still may be able to find a less crowded spot to ride, but getting around on the island will be a hassle if you hit the main crowds.

Check out our site for more info on locations, etc.
