Postby jteabird » Sat Feb 21, 2015 4:00 am

We would love to go kiting there but have noticed some safety notices. Is it safe enough place to go kiting? If so whefe should we go and kite?? Would like to stay close to kite beach resort. Thanks for info.

I've been watching TeleSur from Wenezuela while in Cuba the last five weeks and it doesn't sound good. They just had a failed a military coup attempt and are on a verge of civil war for some time.

i went to adicora with Marthy and to Los Roques, i wrote a post, but if you have any doubts about adicora you should look for adicorakite or adicora kite on facebook.

Adicora is very nice.
It's been a while i was there though.
But it's very remote from all the shit that is going on.
Should be safe there.

I think it's runned now by an english lad.

My wife and I stayed with Marty last year:

it was an awesome time and I felt safe in Adicora, however we flew in and out of Caracas which I would definitely not recommend. You can fly into Aruba and take a ferry, Marty is an honest guy and will help you make safe travel arrangements if you contact him.

It was interesting to be there in a (relatively) safe spot as the country seemed to be falling apart around us. We filled up a Crown Vic sized vehicle and the total came to 12 cents US!

Very inexpensive and amazing kiting, if you end up going make sure you not to change your money at a bank and to check out Matagourda (sp?) - about 20 mins from Adicora. It is a beautiful flatwater bay surrounded by reef which has a 100m or so opening allowing you to transition instantly between flats and waves - amazing spot!

Such a Shame !!
I know both HG and PG pilots from Venezuela ; both agree that the country
is simply Beautiful, with a Lot to offer, ( but they had to leave or Die) . :(

USA had a civil-war a few years back ; we pulled through , and now most places
in the States, are kinda OK to travel to , (I "HOPE" the same for Venezuela ) !!!! :thumb:

There was no coup attempt at all.
They arrested the mayor of caracas because of a suspicion for a conspiracy against the left government.
If he's guilty he can expect a long sentence.
Doh!
Don't believe anything on the Cuba television because they are on their side.

Back to kiting:

There is no ferry from Aruba.
You have to go by plane with Insel Air.

I believe Adicora is pretty safe.
It's very nice for kiting.
Long beach and not much people.
Only in the weekends kiters from Coro are coming.
There is no nightlife.
