I'd try kenyaway (http://www.thekenyaway.com/) at Diani Beach, never been there tho..

... but I'm afraid it might be the wrong seson to kitesurf there, check the weather before you make the final decision

Did Nyali Beach over Christmas once, nice place, friendly people, but grinding poverty (if you're in the wrong tribe), take lots of kids books, pens, pencils and stuff to give away.

Big sea over a tidal reef, I got out about 6 of the 12 days I was there. Take a big kite in case.
GTS3 15mtr for example.

The northeasterly wind season (kaskazi) usually ends in march, that is why I wouldn't advice to go there... you might have wind but rainy windless days as well... Better earlier or later :thumb:

Hello kitepeople! ((((( =

I'm just staying in Kenya – Diani beach and I just saw the questions about how is it for real here.
I spent here already 1 month and got 2 months to discover Diani, Lamu, Watamu...
Let me share some basic informations about this place, so it will be hopefully useful for you to visit this place.

How did I get here?

Condor airlines from Frankfurt – direct flight which I have used (8 hour 35 minutes overnight flight)

You can also find great last minute offers from Tui or Thomas cook.

Different airlines which you can catch: Emirates, Quatar Airways, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines...so many of them!

Places to stay in Diani beach:
Hotels – definitely I do recommend to book them together with the trip with one of the travel operators.

Backpacker places- there are lots of places which are offering cheap accomodations – starting from even 10$.

Holidays with friends- private villas – if you want to travel with friends, my best recommendation would be to book via Airbnb private villa with pool and security.

Best time to come for kitesurfers:
June- July- August & December- January- February
In those months trade winds bring the wind to the spots everyday.
In other months you will find most of the schools closed, so it will be good to take your own pump with you, but also you might find lot's of rainy days and way less wind...

Injections – they are proposed, but not obligatory.
Tourist Visa – can be bought at the airport for 50$ (2019).

Place to stay – i can recommend the KiteMotion Kitesurfing School at Diani- beach.

The guys have it all well prepared, hospitality is amazing and I think this is the only one school with the rescue boat round this beach! Ah and for beginners they do also prepared the bb -talking radios. In school there is a girl who ride Foil also....

If you are about to come to Kenya give me a chat! I’ll stay here for a while….

Windy regards:
Maria :)
