You arrive at a crowded place and take out a wind meter instead of watching what others ride

Or you ask "how many knots of wind is it ?", instead of watching what others ride

And maybe the most classic, you arrive at a spot seeing others stake self launching and landing, and you say: "Wow, how do you do that ?" ha haa, hilarious

You resume a list that ended at 17 somewhere in the 40's.

It takes you a half hour to rig.

You walk your lines more of than once every time you rig.

Once your rigged, you have to wait around for another kiter to show up to get a launch.

You fill a hardrive with kite footage where your the only rider.

You catalog your tricks

The tag line you are known for denouncing ram air kites is actually the exact reason they have permanently taken over the race scene.

If I followed that rule, I'd never get on a plane... Prefer to check my anemometer than rely on the mongs around here.

You use a wind meter

your pump has a gauge on it

You call a surfboard a directional

You list you own companies as your sponsors

Helping Kooks to identify themselves.

It's getting easier

It used to be 1 in a hundred kiters 10 years ago

Now it is 99 in a hundred kiters

Simple really.

2000 marketing - " not for 99.9% of the population"

2015 marketing "Our 100 percent depowering kite will get you up and riding like a pro within minutes, 100 % safe, anyone can do it, no fitness or common sense required - in fact quite opposite - we want wannabes with plenty of $$$ to spend on the lie that you will be ever as good as the pro rider features riding our kites who are at least 1/2 of your age with more talent than you will ever have. Buy into this fake dream today and spend more time talking up your kit than actually riding - you know its about the stoke - it's a lifestyle - for us when we get your $$$$ lol"

The kiteboarding industry 2015 - slowly eating itself up it's own ass!

The kite of choice for 55yo middle-aged single men with grey pony tails. Which itself is kooky. But doubly kooky if combined with flying sleeping bags.
