Many Kooks don't even realize they are Kooks. I'd really like to help out all the kooks in the kiteboarding community to help identify themselves, so that further Kookiness may be prevented.
I'll start the Kook characteristics list and I'm sure others will chime in.
YOU ARE A KOOK IF;
1. You use a board leash.
2. You try to return a board downwind to a fellow kiter and he yells"get the f*** away from me!"
3. More than one kiter has asked you if you've taken lessons.
4. All the other kiters stop what they are doing to watch you launch.
5. You kite at a crowded spot and nobody ever seems to get down wind of you.
6. You kite at a crowded spot and nobody gets near you.
7. You have more than one rape whistle "just in case"
8. An experienced kiteboarder tells you "this isn't a good place for beginners with this wind direction" Then you see him two weeks later in the same wind conditions and he repeats himself.
9. All your gear matches.
10. You have boots on your board and you have never done a backroll.
Please add to the list

11) You ask an expierienced kiter, if boots were a solution against having to drag to get to your board

12. You fly Cabrinha kites ... Lol okay that's just mean but seriously a lot of them fit... Not all
13. You have fitted your kite board with snowboard bindings
14. You are in the poop stance with 2 hands on the outer edge of the bar while launching your kite to the point you can not let go to give a thumbs up
15. Your fins are installed backwards
16. You make no effort to engage locals on the beach

all this sounds like fun for a day... I might try 1-15 at a beach I don't kite at much too see how many call me a KOok. Break out the 2000 slingshot fuels with my javis and neon suit just for piss and giggles.. ( I have wanted to do this for years) this is the summer I am going too

I am sure I can get some of the old timers together for this.. I know we talked about it last year, I will just call them all one weekend and just do it.. after 15 years of kiteing I am sure we can find some old gear in our sheds.
