would it be a good idea to have two kite boards? I just bought a airush 144x42 board, but have a opportunity to buy another board a 135x41, i am wondering if it is too small for my weight, at 175lbs and 5,8 tall. my last board was 138cm x 42, but i sold it. i am a downwinder at this point. a little confused with boards, guy at a kite shop said 135cm vs. 138cm long, is not a big difference, but thinking by weight might be too small? thoughts?

I am the same weight and have a board about that size, plus a bigger one for light wind.

For your light wind board I'd suggest you go wider. 45cm perhaps.
Width has a far greater impact on upwind ability than length.

144 x 42 is plenty of size for you but not so big as to be too much for a while.
If you are working at staying upwind stick with It until that is behind you and your well into the 9m days.
Once your comfy in winds up over 25 knots for sure a smaller board is going to come in useful.
Lotsa boards to have fun on out there. LOT's !

Agree with Starsky, for now that is fine.
You only really need one board that is the proper size for your weight. And from there you can add on a specialty one for light wind (a door-style board) or high wind (small size). But once you are a competent rider, they don't make a huge difference unless you're kiting in marginal conditions.
