Been riding Rally of different sizes for quite some years, and really like them. Last one in the quiver is the 9 sqm from 2015. Was just offered a used RPM 6 sqm from 2012 without bar. Question; is the bar/lines for the Rally 2015 compatible/recommendable with/for the RPM 2012?

Your 2015 c-bar should work depending on the bar length. The 6m RPM is tuned to fly on a 17"(43cm) bar. If yours is 17", you're good to go. If yours is the 20"(51cm) bar, then it will still work, but it will significantly increase the kite's responsiveness due to the added leverage from the longer bar. You may like the increased responsiveness, so you'll have to experiment. However being that it's a 6m, you may actually want the correct bar size so it's not too responsive when it's 6m conditions, if you know what I'm saying.

I fly all my kites 6 - 14 on a big bar, much prefer the small kites on the larger bar

It should work. But having a smaller bar for the smaller size kites is preferable.

yes it will be fine. If you find the kite too quick and hectic, then a smaller bar will help to slow things down a bit. A small bar on a big kite makes it feel heavier and slower. I use either a 20 or 17 on a nine and a 17 on anything smaller.

It works just fine. As you can see above, it´s a matter of taste. I only use Surfboards and like the added responsiveness with the longer bar on my 8 and 6m rpm´s. I have the short bar, too, but don´t use it anymore because one handed steering is much easier for me with the long bar. I even use 20m lines with the 20´ bar with the 6m rpm. If you should find it too fast there are several attachment-points on the rpm to slow it down.

The 2015 9m Rally should have been supplied with a 20"bar and 23m lines. So if you use this bar the kite will be faster (as previously stated by other posts) BUT also it will be more powerful due to the 3m extra line length increasing your wind window radius. Check the attachment points at the rear of the kite to connect it to the slower turning position to compensate somewhat for the faster speed becasue of the bar, and don;t forget the extra power.

I had a bar failure and flew my 12 on my short bar for a bit and it gave me tennis elbow as it took a bit more effort to turn the kite.
edited to appease someone....you bastard.
